He launched the spirit this summer and is planning to roll it out nationally from early next year.
“I noticed the appeal of aged, flavoured and spiced rums from working in the pub industry and so I created my own for friends and family,” explains Paul.
“Everyone enjoyed it so much I decided to produce it on a larger scale.”
The rum was originally sold in the pub but in June launched in the area around Brighton, Sussex, a region that has displayed a thirst for small batch spirits in recent times, most notably with the success of Brighton Gin.
Since then Cloven Hoof has gained listings in more than 80 local bars, from “Worthing to Hastings.”
Paul is hoping Cloven Hoof will tap into this growing market and the continuing popularity of rum with drinkers around the country.
